In Germany, there are obvious features about wedding different from other countries.

In old days, the expenditures of wedding including those of wedding dresses, feasts and wedding cars, etc. would be totally supported by the brides-to-be’s families. But now, the young people, in order to show their independence, would like to finance the weddings by themselves.

In the days before the ceremony, in front of the doors of a bride-to-be’ family,
a party will be held, showing that the couple who wear special occasion dresses say goodbye to old days and welcome new days.

Lots of things need to be prepared, including wedding dresses, cakes, gifts, kitchen utensils, and other trivial things. They thus make a list and let their friends and relatives separately shop different things, some helping the bride-to-be shop best wedding dresses, and some shopping kitchen utensils, etc.. In this way, the couple will save lots of labor and time.

When the bridegroom and the bride who wears beautiful white bridal dress, walk into the hall, they receive the congratulations from people and express their thanks. Suddenly, the sounds of smashing bowls and plates emerge. It turns out that according to the local custom, every visitor should bring bowls or plates from home to smash there. In this way, they mean they hope the couple will discard the old troubles and begin the new sweet life.
